CBRN

When discussing chemical risk, we tend to think almost exclusively of the industrial and manufacturing world, where chemical substances are handled, produced, or processed. Unfortunately, we often forget that, today, chemical products surround us in everyday life — at home, in the workplace, in vehicles, in clothing, and so on.

Problems arise whenever normal conditions of use or storage are disrupted by exposure to high temperatures (fire), high pressures (explosion), or interaction between incompatible substances (mixtures).

Tecnica Formazione Sicurezza offers targeted training and refresher courses covering both preventive defence and direct intervention. Primary importance is given to a thorough understanding of the phenomenon in all its aspects — to prevent uncontrollable situations from arising — and to the correct methods of intervention using the most appropriate resources.

Training modules are aimed first and foremost at specialist units such as:

  • Fire brigades;
  • Emergency medical responders;
  • Special police forces;
  • Special army units;
  • Emergency response teams (major-hazard industries).

Training

ICE & FIRE s.r.l. offers specialised training courses in N.B.C.R. (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical, Radiological) and environmental risk: from the management of chemical incidents and ammonia leaks to training on epidemic and epizootic scenarios, from nuclear risk to intervention procedures on contaminated sites, from the identification of hazardous substances in A.D.R. transport to safety in major-hazard establishments (Seveso).

Chemical Risk: Major-Hazard Establishments — Seveso Directive16 hoursLegislative Decree 105/2015, SGS-IR, ministerial and regional inspection audits

The course provides both theoretical and practical training on safety management tools in establishments subject to major accident risk (MAR) that fall within the scope of the Seveso Directives. The theoretical section covers Legislative Decree 105/2015 (Seveso III Directive implementation), the changes introduced compared to previous legislation, the measures in place for the prevention of major accidents, and the elements needed to implement a Safety Management System (SMS-MAR). The practical section focuses on conducting ministerial (ISPRA) and regional (ARPA) audit inspections of the SMS, with applied simulations.

Dangerous Goods Transport — A.D.R.

CourseDurationContent
Chemical Risk: Transport and Identification of Hazardous Substances8 hoursLabelling, international classification, safety data sheets, PPE
Chemical Risk: Transport of Hazardous Substances and ADR Regulations16 hoursFull course covering ADR regulations, classification, hazard data sheets

The ADR courses train operators in the different types of hazardous substances in the transport sector: labelling, international classification, and transport regulations. Participants learn how to interpret safety data sheets, identify objective risks associated with the presence of or contact with a substance, and understand the adverse effects of chemical and hazardous substances. The 16-hour module provides an in-depth study of the ADR Agreement (European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road), including analysis of hazard identification tables and danger codes.

Biological Risk

CourseDurationContent
Biological Risk: Epidemics and Epizootics20 hoursApplied biology, types of biological emergency, decontamination, PPE
Biological Risk: Disinfection of Environments and Areas12 hoursPrinciples of infection/disinfection, active ingredients, application techniques
